If your winter to do list includes ice skating, holiday light displays and dining at a ski resort, then head to Boston.

Yes, all of those things can be done in Massachusetts' capitol city this winter with the arrival of Boston's Winter Fest in Hood Park just outside of downtown.

Spread over two acres is an illuminated ice castle, outdoor skating rink, Santa's workshop and even a Christmas "tree you can see from [Interstate] 93."

Winter lovers of all ages can ice skate, shop an artisan marketplace and check out an adorable toy workshop.

Not to mentions the hundreds of lights strung throughout the festival grounds, the massive illuminated ice castle perfect for family photos and 32-foot Christmas tree.

And if you get hungry during your visit to Winter Fest, dig into warm winter foods like clam chowder, mac & cheese, chicken noodle soup or even grilled cheese with bacon.

There's warm drinks and sweet treats too, like eggnog stuffed croissants and gingerbread cookies.

How Much Does Boston's Winter Fest Cost?

Perhaps the best part of this first ever festival, it's totally free to attend.

Everyone is welcome to walk through the festival grounds, see the lights and snap some photos.

The price to ice skate, take photos with Santa or grab a bite to eat are all extra of course and can only be purchased with credit cards as the entire event is cashless.
