Authorities Investigating Stabbing Death of Man in Fall River
FALL RIVER – Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that took place in Fall River on Saturday.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III says that there is an active homicide investigation into the stabbing death of a Fall River man.
At approximately 11:35 p.m. Saturday night, Fall River Police responded to the area of Church and Hall Streets to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 39-year-old Joseph Reading, in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle bleeding and unresponsive.
Reading was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Through an investigation, police revealed that the victim had attended a gathering at 160 Hall Street in Fall River where he was involved in an altercation and was injured.
Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol District Attorney’s Office are conducting an investigation in conjunction with the Fall River Police Department.
