Austin Needs a Family: Bright and Curious Child Ready for Adoption
Austin is an easy-going child. He loves exploring new things and is always up for a trip to the park, the beach, the arcade or the movies. He likes to relax by playing with his Legos and video games. He enjoys helping to cook, ride bikes and rollerblade, along with crafts and music.
Austin is a solid student and likes going to school. He has developed some great bonds at his school, and he regularly comes home with a gold star for being the star student of the day. Austin enjoys practicing and maintaining things that he has learned in school such as reading and engaging in math or spelling workbooks.
Austin's social worker is open to a family of any makeup with or without children. Most importantly, Austin must be able to stay connected to his siblings. While Austin’s social worker is ultimately seeking a permanent family for him, Austin would also benefit from forming relationships with other caring adults and would benefit from a visiting resource (licensed foster or pre-adoptive families who care for children on a short-term basis). Anyone interested in this opportunity should inquire about Austin.
Who Can Adopt
If you’re at least 18, have a stable source of income and have room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ+ singles and couples. As an adoptive parent, you won’t have to pay any fees. Adoption from foster care is completely free in Massachusetts.
Adopting a child from foster care includes training, interviews and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you. These steps will help match you with a child or sibling group that will be a good fit.
To learn more about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at (617) 964-6273 or visit www.mareinc.org. Start the process today and give a waiting child a permanent place to call home.
