Calling all SouthCoast singers: thinking of taking your talents to the next level? Here's some good news that is coming your way.

On February 21, The Voice will be hosting appointment-only auditions in
Boston.

The four-time Emmy-winning NBC series will be here to find the nation's best new artists and some of the biggest names in the music industry will serve as their coaches. Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will join Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton as coaches for season 18 of The Voice.

This will be the first season that Nick Jonas will make an appearance and also the first where singer and Blake Shelton's girlfriend Gwen Stefani will not be on the show.

There are five different stages of competition, the first being the Blind Auditions, then the Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and lastly the Live Performance shows where the audience votes for each contestant.

During the Blind Auditions, the coaches hear the artists perform, but they don’t get to see them. This prevents any bias from a coach based on a contestant's look. If a coach is impressed by a contestant's voice, they push a button to select this person for their team.

If more than one coach pushes their button then the contestant gets to choose which coach they want to work with. If no coach pushes their button, then that contestant is eliminated from the competition.

Interested in just watching instead of auditioning? You can catch The Voice on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
