NEW BEDFORD - Another suspicious fire is reported in New Bedford.

Police and Fire personnel responded to the report of a fire at 140 Hathaway Street at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. The occupants of the home reported the fire, and had extinguished the flames before the Fire Department arrived.

The fire was started on some drapes in the home and had caused minor damage. No injuries have been reported.

Though the origin of the fire has been deemed suspicious, Police and Fire officials will not yet say if the fire is connected to recent suspicious fires.

Last Wednesday, a suspicious fire was extinguished in the basement of a Sawyer Street home. On July 22 and July 31, suspicious fires were reported on Adams and Coggeshall Streets, respectively.

Police and Fire officials are investigating.
