Amber Alert Issued For Missing Rhode Island Boy And Mother

Authorities in Rhode Island have issued an Amber Alert for a 6-year-old child who hasn't been seen or heard from in more than a week. Daniel Britt, 6, was last seen on Jan. 8 with his mother, Andria Britt.

According to WCVB-TV, Daniel's mother had a family court appearance scheduled for that morning that she never showed up for. Police said Andrea Britt thought she may lose custody of Daniel, and took off. Woonsocket police said she may be en route to Washington state, which would violate a Rhode Island family court order. Police said Britt was driving a 2004 red Ford sedan with Rhode Island registration 942-649.
