Amazon Wants To Unlock Your Front Door
They are here on the Southcoast as well as in most other areas of the country. Holiday porch pirates. They comb neighborhoods looking for packages that have been delivered while no one is home.
Amazon has an idea that will help fight those thieves. Amazon Key will allow the packages to be left inside your front door. It's a new service for Amazon Prime members, and it allows the delivery person to unlock your front door. It will also let the customer watch the delivery in real time.
The service comes with a one-time cost of $250, which includes a keyless door lock and video camera. Prime members can now pre-order the kit. The delivery system takes effect on November 8th in Boston and surrounding areas.
