Am I Brave Enough to Take the ‘Jeopardy!’ Test?
Jeopardy! test time is fast approaching, but am I brave enough to do it?
I know it sounds super weird to be brave enough to take a test, but I've wimped out on doing this before and am trying not to do it again.
I love me some Jeopardy! I watch pretty much every night and love to play along giving answers.
And honestly, I usually do pretty well.
I'm definitely no Ken Jennings or James Holzhauer. There are LOTS of things I can't answer when I watch. But I do fairly well and can often nail the Final Jeopardy question, too.
So when they advertise the Jeopardy! test to become a potential contestant I always tell my husband I should do it. And then I never do.
So what's my problem? Well, what if I am only smart from my couch? What if I actually make it onto the show and totally crack?
I can very much so see myself blanking in the moment. The pressure of being on stage, Alex Trebek is there, buzzer's in my hand – it seems like too much.
As a radio person, I'm used to no one seeing me when I talk. I think the thought of being on camera is my biggest fear in taking this Jeopardy! test.
Of course, I could always take it and not get on the show and none of these fears even matter.
Basically I need a verbal slap in the face. I need someone to say "hey, just do it and stop talking about it already."
The test can be taken on January 28 at 5 p.m. PST and people can register now at jeopardy.com.
So should I do it?
