Acushnet Town-Wide Yard Sale and Festival Return This Weekend

If you are a fan of yard sales, Acushnet is the place to be this weekend. For the fifth year, Acushnet will host a town-wide yard sale on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7. The dates are set to coincide with Acushnet's biggest draw of the year, the Apple Peach Festival.

Acushnet Yard Sale organizers have put together a list of participating homes and have even gone to the trouble of setting up logical routes to hit as many of the yard sales as possible. Suggested yard sale times are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The weekend's weather looks to favor Saturday over Sunday for yard sale activity.

Whether you are visiting town for the festival, the yard sale, or for a scoop of the creamery's world famous homemade ice cream, brace yourself for some of the heaviest traffic you'll ever see in the little town. Main Street, especially the area around Long Plain Baptist Church can see volume jump to bumper to bumper levels.

One positive of the high levels of traffic? There will be kids' lemonade stands set up along the route, many of them raising money for charities.

You can expect to see "No Parking" signs lining Main Street from Parting Ways to the Apple Peach Festival. The Apple Peach parade is Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
