Alexa Cabral is just like any other teenager in Acushnet. She's been enjoying her summer vacation, thinking about back to school shopping, and soaking in the hot, summer weather. She's also found time to put together a song featuring an all-girl group, X's and O's, who are slated to go on the road this fall with a major pop star, according to her manager.

Over the course of the past year, the 13-year-old Ford Middle School student has landed several modeling gigs with Hasbro Toy Company and Bop It Kidz, while showcasing her singing abilities on Boston Common. She performed the 1993 No. 1 hit "I Swear" with the Grammy Award-winning group All 4 One.

Alexa's parents are doing everything they can to help their daughter break into show business. Her father, Manny Cabral, is a sergeant on the New Bedford Police Department. Her mother, Monique, is a hair stylist at Nuance Salon on Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford.

All of the extra work shooting videos and recording songs hasn't stopped Alexis from excelling at her school work. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society there, and is volunteering her time to mentor young kids in Acushnet.

She just released her brand new music video of her first original single "Summertime," featuring X's and O's. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out below!
