When Elizabeth Diamond was diagnosed with cancer, her best friend Laura was by her side the entire time.

According to 7 Eyewitness News, Elizabeth Diamond and Laura Ruffino have been best friends since 5th grade. They grew up together and helped each other through milestones. Diamond was a single mom of 4 young girls and in August 2014, she was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.

The two best friends made a promise as Elizabeth became weaker that whatever happens, her four daughters will be taken care of. "She said if anything ever happens to me I want you to take my girls and I instantly said ok,” said Laura Ruffino.

Sadly, in April 2015, Elizabeth lost her battle to cancer, ultimately leaving behind her four daughters between the ages of 5 to 12. Laura and her husband Rico were right beside the girls and opened their homes to them immediately.

The Ruffino-Diamond family is now taking their new lifestyle in strive. Its has been hard the family financially so they created a YouCaring account to help accommodate the 4 girls. If you want to donate to the Ruffino-Diamond family, you can click here.
