A Special Christmas Memorial in Westport for Kevin Sousa
This has been a very trying year for everybody, especially for the family of a good friend of mine, Kevin Sousa. Thankfully, there are some great people in the Westport community who thought up a way to give back and keep his memory alive in a special way.
Sadly, Sousa passed away last Sunday night. Family and friends were notified on Monday morning.
Don Felizberto is organizing a memorial for Sousa in the form of a Christmas tree placed in front of his house.
“This is a very difficult time for his family," Felizberto stated on Facebook, "The goal is to shine a little light on a dark situation.”
Anyone that knew Kevin Sousa has been invited to place an ornament on the tree, remembering to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. It would be wonderful for Sousa’s family to see just how much Kevin was loved by everyone who knew him.
The tree is in the family’s front yard, illuminated by white Christmas lights with a large star on top. It was donated by Corey Cabral, Kevin Almeida, and Distinctive Auto Body Refinishing & Sales. Felizberto encourages those that contribute to the memorial to share and post a picture of their ornament with the tree to spread a little cheer.
In front of the tree, there is a sign that reads, “In Loving Memory of Kevin Sousa.” The sign was donated by Signature Signs, based in Westport.
Don Felizberto is an owner at EVUSI, an internet company in Westport. He was a friend of Kevin Sousa’s and wants to make sure that Kevin’s family receives the love that they need in the wake of his passing. The support would mean a lot to anyone who knew him.
Help give the friends and family of Kevin Sousa some holiday happiness at a time when it is especially needed.
Rest easy, Kev; we all miss you, brother.
