A bus trip to the Big Apple for the holiday season is cheaper than you think, and what memories you'll make.

Hands down, this is my favorite time of the year. I love the holidays and all the warm and fuzzy feels that go with it. One thing that's been on my bucket list for a few years is a day trip to New York City during Christmastime to enjoy all the fun and festive happenings.

I came across a great article highlighting the "must-dos" in Manhattan for the holidays and wanted to share some things on this list.

Of course, the first stop (or maybe later to see it light up after dark) would be the one-of-a-kind giant Norway Spruce which will be on display at Rockefeller Center through Christmas and New Year's Day. The tree is typically all lit up from 5:30 a.m. until close to midnight everyday. Then once Christmas arrives, it's lit a full 24 hours.

Another must for me would be a Broadway or an Off-Broadway show. I would love love love to see The Christmas Spectacular featuring the Radio City Rocketts. I'd also like to see Hamilton or Wicked on Broadway. There are so many shows to choose from, check out a great list at Broadway.com.

Something else I would love to do again because it's been years? Ice skating at Rockefeller Center, so fun! That's if we don't spend all of our skate time falling down. You can rent the skates right there and it's usually pretty inexpensive.

What else would I do on a day trip to NYC during the holiday season? I would definitely do some shopping (no brainer). I would want to eat authentic NYC pizza or maybe a carb-loaded Italian dinner at the famous Lupa or Emilio's.
