The Pet Fest and Walk for Animals is coming up in May.

Buttonwood Park will be covered with doggos and puppers on Sunday, May 5 from 10 am to 3 pm, rain or shine. The Coalition for Animals of Greater New Bedford is hosting this event, in its 20th year, and will award prizes for contestants who participate in the 2-mile walk around the park. Of course, animal lovers without dogs are also welcome!

There will be awesome music, refreshments, and food. Attendance to check out the vendors and entertainment in the center ring is FREE (but be sure to bring some cash for food and wares!).

Pet Fest helps to raise funds to help injured, sick, homeless, abandoned, and neglected animals and 100% of the funds raised are used to support our variety of programs that benefit local animals in our community. Attended by over 600 people and 400 dogs in past years, there are great prizes for people raising the most money and all registered walkers will receive a free T-shirt.

There is a $15 registration fee for each person participating in the fundraising walk. Registration will be between 11 a.m. and noon, and the walk will begin at noon with a Blessing of the Animals.
