I am guilty of not warming up appropriately. I admit it. Usually, if I go for a jog, I consider my light pace jog enough of a warm up in and of itself.  My best shot at a proper warm up and cool down is when I take a fitness class. The instructor will always begin the class with a warm up and end with a cool down and some stretches.
