'Tis the season for day-tripping through New England and sampling the many fabulous restaurants you've heard about but still have not tried.

New England has an incredible selection of restaurants offering everything from seafood to ethnic fare. There is something to suit everyone's taste buds.

Yelp has compiled a list of its Top 100 New England restaurants. The list, prepared in 2022, is a helpful resource for molding your weekend daycations around your culinary desires.

Two of the top 10 restaurants are in Massachusetts. Branches Grill and Cafe in Chatham is eighth overall, and Ciao! Pizza and Pasta in Chelsea ranks ninth.

New Bedford's The Baker at 562 Pleasant Street is ranked 11th overall.

The folks that operate The Baker are opening a second location on Fairhaven's waterfront to be known as Olivia's.

Forty of the top New England restaurants are in Massachusetts, 12 are in Rhode Island, 20 are in Connecticut, seven are in New Hampshire, eight are in Vermont, and 13 are in Maine.

Topping Yelp's list of best New England restaurants: Jayd Bun at 1202 Kingstown Road in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.
