Gather your witches and get ready to hit the water in Rhode Island.

It may sound contradictory given that water defeated the Wicked Witch of the West, but luckily for these locals, this event is on the water, not in it.

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, heads will be turning as a spooktacular sight takes to the water in Wickford Village.

The 7th Annual Witches of Wickford Paddle welcomes witches, warlocks, and boys and ghouls of all ages to join in on the fun. Even costumed pets can take part!

Costume Contest Categories

Prizes will be awarded to the winners in the following categories:

  • Best Witch
  • Best Warlock
  • Best Dressed Pet
  • Most Creative/Original

Paddle & Donate

The Kayak Centre of RI shared the return of the popular event on its Facebook page:

"Join us for a spooktacular paddle around Wickford Harbor filled with frightful fun — all to support the North Kingstown Food Pantry."

The Kayak Centre will be donating $2,500 to jumpstart the fundraising and all proceeds of the $25 entry fee will go directly to North Kingstown Food Pantry as well.
