Maybe I was just more aware of it last winter, but I found myself repeatedly impressed with the items people were using to save their parking spaces throughout New Bedford and Fall River.

Of all the space savers there were, my favorite was a statue of Jesus. (At first I thought this rare and sacrilege, but upon searching the internet learned that everyone else was doing it, too.)  Other creative maneuvers included old furniture (actual upholstered couches and chairs) outdoor furniture like patio sets and beach chairs, overturned shopping carts and even large baby gear like highchairs and excer-saucers.

Reminiscent for the long days where parking was a never-ending battle, we combed the internet looking for some of Massachusetts' best space savers from this past year.  If we're going to get hit with a heckuvalotta snow, we may at least as some fun with it, right?

As a bonus, here's where space savers go to die in Somerville.
