Happy Wet Nose Wednesday.

Every week, we spotlight loving animals up for adoption on the SouthCoast in hopes of finding the perfect forever home. They are waiting to be loved, and this week, a 75-pound hound hopes to be your cuddle buddy.

Meet Creek.

Creek is a 2-and-a-half-year-old male hound at Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford. The shelter is heartbroken to share that Creek has been there for a while due to a case of “stranger danger.” He’s hesitant at first, but once he gets to know you, he will love you unconditionally.

“If anyone is looking for a goofy, silly, awkward dog that acts tough but is a secret softie, then Creek might just be your guy,” the shelter said.

Creek loves other dogs and even does well on walks when passing by strangers, but he is certainly a homebody that takes some time to warm up to new people in his life.

Creek’s ideal home will be with someone who is patient and understanding of his insecurity with strangers in his space.

“With a proper introduction, he warms up to new people in no time but he is not the type of dog that can step into a new situation and feel comfortable instantly,” the shelter said.

Creek is misunderstood and hopes to find a loving family that will take their time with him. In return, he will love you forever.
