Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! It's our favorite day of the week because it's all about the animals.

If you are interested in adding a pet to your family, consider adoption. Hundreds of animals are up for adoption on the SouthCoast, hoping to find places to call home. With the help of local shelters, we share their stories.

This week, we head to New Bedford where a sweet boy is looking to play.

Meet Cole, a 4-year-old mixed breed living at Lighthouse Animal Shelter. His favorite activities are playing with toys, going on walks and getting belly rubs.

"Cole has a lot of energy when it comes to playing but he also settles nicely in his room indoors and enjoys sunbathing on a sunny afternoon," the shelter said.

Are you looking for a best friend to accompany you on adventures? Cole is your guy. He is also extremely affectionate, so get ready for kisses when you get home.

Does Cole sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Lighthouse Animal Shelter, like them on Facebook, and schedule a play date today.

Cole can't wait to meet you.

Temperatures soared across the SouthCoast but these dogs found plenty of ways to stay cool.
