Nervous Fall River Dog Needs a Family to Help Her Relax [WET NOSE WEDNESDAY]
Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk about animals.
All kinds of animals, both big and small, are anxiously waiting for a place to call home. On the SouthCoast, we are fortunate to have loving shelters, but a shelter should never be a place where an animal grows old.
With the help of these local shelters, we share the stories of the animals that hope to find the perfect family. This week, we head to Fall River where a "nervous Nelly" needs to learn what love looks like.
Meet Clover, a young, pointer/lab mix residing at Forever Paws Animal Shelter.
"She's a young girl that has zero confidence in herself and is terrified of the world," the shelter said.
She's known for giving her big, sad puppy dog eyes any time she is anxious, but once she warms up to you, it's like an entirely different dog. When she trusts you, she goes into full-on puppy mode. Get ready for zoomies, sloppy kisses and snuggles.
Clover loves her toys, especially the squeaky ones, and she is very playful.
"No kids for this girl, just because she's already so nervous and quick movements and loud noises will send her scurrying," the shelter said. "Other dogs would be OK as long as they give her time to open up on her own and won't try to push her around. We aren't sure about cats quite yet."
Clover's ideal family will be just as lively as she is and will give her time to learn that the world isn't so scary and it's OK to trust people.
