Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk about animals.

Nothing beats the unconditional love that an animal can offer, and there are hundreds of animals living at local shelters just waiting to bring that love to a forever home.

Each week, we give a spotlight to one lucky animal and share their story during Wet Nose Wednesday in hopes of uniting them with the perfect family.

This week, we head to New Bedford where an outgoing pup is waiting to play.

Meet Acorn. Acorn is a 56-pound, 1-year-old mixed breed residing at Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford, and he is the friendliest pup at the shelter.

Acorn is a very outgoing dog that will be happy to greet you as soon as you walk in.

"He's got the perfect energy for walks and adventures, and walks well on the leash, but settles nicely for down time, too," said the shelter.

Acorn is a well-mannered boy that adapts to his surroundings. He'll zoom around with the puppies, but if you're relaxing, he will gladly join in.

Acorn loves to play tug-of-war and will happily accept belly rubs from anyone giving them out.

Does Acorn sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Lighthouse Animal Shelter online, like them on Facebook, and schedule a play date today.

Acorn cannot wait to meet you.
