Westport’s Beloved Country Store Owners Retire After 17 Years
A new chapter has officially begun for one of Westport’s most beloved small businesses.
On Wednesday morning, longtime owners Kathy and Rory Couturier announced on Facebook that their time running the Head Town Landing Country Store has come to a close after 17 years.
A Grateful Goodbye
In their heartfelt message titled "Our Sincere Thanks and Warm Farewell," the couple reflected on nearly two decades of community, friendships and everyday connections.
Passing the Torch
While Kathy and Rory are stepping away, the store itself is staying strong.

The Couturiers assured customers that the bakery will continue serving its famous donuts and pastries, while the creamery and coffee center will still offer the same favorites. It's safe to say that the Country Store is in great hands.
Looking Ahead
Located at 488 Old County Road, the Country Store has been a community staple since Rory and Kathy first took over, offering everything from coffee, sandwiches and hot dogs to Bliss Ice Cream and Del’s Frozen Lemonade. The transition comes after the property was listed for sale at $1.25 million back in November 2024.
As they step into the next phase of their lives, the Couturiers leave behind a lasting legacy and encourage the community to welcome the new owners with the same warmth and support.
They bid farewell on Facebook with one final message.
"We look forward to seeing you all around town, and wish you all the best," they wrote.
