Looking for an exciting and educational adventure for your child during the winter school break? Look no further than Winter Break Nature Camp.
Thanks to the Westport Recreation Department and Westport Land Conservation Trust, children (age 5 to 11) are invited to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature at the Learning Center at Westport Woods, 573 Adamsville Road, Westport.
From Feb. 19-23, 9 a.m. to noon, this camp promises a week filled with captivating crafts, engaging games and thrilling activities, all centered around exploring the beauty of nature during winter. Led by experienced and enthusiastic instructors, children will learn about hibernation, evergreen trees, winter birds and more.
A few highlights: guided trail hikes, meadow frolics and explorations of the children's garden. The camp allows young participants to connect with nature in a hands-on way.
The camp is thoughtfully designed to blend fun with learning. Nature-themed art projects will spark creativity, interactive games will encourage teamwork and critical thinking, while music and reading sessions will inspire a love for the natural world. Every activity is carefully crafted to engage young minds and ignite a sense of wonder and curiosity about the environment.
Parents can rest assured that their children will be in safe hands throughout the camp, with dedicated staff members ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants.
The camp is open to residents ($150) and non-residents ($155).
