DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — A Westport man was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a motorcycle crash in Dartmouth earlier today.

According to Dartmouth Police, officers and other emergency personnel responded to the area of 415 Division Road at about 11:54 a.m. today for a reported motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

Police said the operator of the motorcycle, a 70-year-old Westport man, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford with “suspected life-threatening injuries.” His name was not released.

The other vehicle involved was a Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 19-year-old Westport man. Police said he remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Police said the incident is under investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit and that no further information is available at this time.
