Joy is a baby girl named Lily Rose.

How exciting is it for a young family to welcome new life, full of promise, hope and endless possibilities for the future? Few things can rival the birth of a child after months of anticipation. No child can enter the world more loved and appreciated than Lillian Rose Cormier.

WBSM alumnus Taylor Cormier and his wife Jessica introduced their new daughter to the world at 3:16 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2023. Lily weighed in like a champ at seven pounds, one ounce, and 20 inches long.

The Cormiers live in Acushnet with their son Harrison who turns three in August. Taylor, who launched his broadcast career with WBSM in 2007, left in 2019 to join The Howie Carr Radio Network. He said Lily was named after her grandmother Lillian.

"Dad wasn't ready for a girl!" Taylor said.

He admits to being "a little frightened about the job he has to do as opposed to helping to raise a boy."

Taylor recalled the words from the song "Soliloquy" from the 1945 Rogers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, also recorded by Frank Sinatra: "You can have fun with a son, but you've got to be a father to a girl."

Taylor's goals for raising Lily are simple but not easy.

"Being the greatest male role model she'll ever have," he said. "Being the gold standard by which she'll judge all other men in her life."

Taylor said Lily is "worthy of the utmost respect from men" and she "deserves nothing less than the best."

Knowing my young friend Taylor as I do, Lillian Rose Cormier could not have found a better example or a better dad. Her mom and grandparents are pretty special people, too.

Congratulations to Taylor, Jess and Harrison. The future awaits.
