Massachusetts Water Park Goes Dark for HalloWizz — Here’s What to Expect
When the sun goes down in Wareham, the slides stop splashing and the screams begin.
Over at Water Wizz, the SouthCoast’s beloved summer destination has been reborn as HalloWizz, a chilling after-hours experience where laughter and fear go hand in hand.
Believe me, I had chills running down my spine the entire time.
Family Fun Before Dark, Full Fright After
From 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (except on Thursdays, the park opens at 6 p.m.) the park is open for all ages to explore and enjoy the milder side of Halloween with the Fall Festival extravaganza. There's a spooky Trick-or-Treat Trail Maze with candy stations, Freddy’s Pumpkin Patch and even "spooky-but-silly" carnival games.

However, once the clock strikes 6:30, things take a darker turn. That’s when Sir Theo Wizz, the Dracula-like narrator and host of the night, announces the start of the character parade, as monsters, ghouls and creepy clowns march through the park toward their “scare zones.”
Parents take note: after dark, HalloWizz is not for the faint of heart.
Hellgate House: The Frightful Welcome
My journey began at Hellgate House, a haunted mansion that transforms Water Wizz’s familiar summer pathways into a nightmare you’ll never forget. The attention to detail is next-level: eerie lighting, immersive sound design, and just the right amount of jump scares. Don’t worry, though; there’s no touching, just plenty of heart-pounding moments to keep you on your toes.
Pigman’s Corn Maze Steals the Show
Out of all the attractions, Pigman’s Corn Maze easily took the top spot. The fog, the slaughter-house gore, screams, and the creepy energy make it the most terrifying part of HalloWizz.
Even more impressive? It’s brought to life by students and teachers from Wareham High’s theater program, whose performances make the maze feel like a live horror film. This one’s definitely not for the little ones.
Spirit Séance Room Brings the Chills
To wrap up the night, visitors can enter the Spirit Séance Room, a shorter but spine-tingling experience filled with strange noises, flickering lights, and a sense that you’re not alone. It’s the perfect ending for those brave enough to face it.
Know Before You Go
- Buy tickets online at waterwizz.com and have them scanned right from your phone.
- Food and drinks are available throughout the park, so no need to grab dinner beforehand.
- Looking to save? Grab half-price tickets at SeizetheDeal.com while they last.
Final Verdict
HalloWizz delivers everything a haunted theme park should: family-friendly fun to start the night, followed by pure Halloween madness once the lights go down. From the creepy charisma of Sir Theo to the absolute terror of Pigman’s Corn Maze, Water Wizz has officially proven it can thrill just as well as it chills.
