Wareham Police Arrest Three From New Bedford, Fall River in Stolen Car
WAREHAM (WBSM) — Wareham Police arrested three people from New Bedford and Fall River Sunday night on multiple charges after they were allegedly found to have a gun while traveling in a stolen vehicle.
According to police, officers were alerted at about 7:55 p.m. on August 11 to a suspicious motor vehicle in the area of 227 Onset Avenue. Police said the investigating officers soon learned the vehicle was stolen.
The three males associated with the vehicle were identified by police as Rodney Jette, 23, of New Bedford; Davon Hudson, 29, of New Bedford; and a 17-year-old from Fall River.
Police said two of the males fled from officers on foot, and that after a brief foot chase, all three were placed in custody.
A search of the stolen vehicle turned up a 9mm Glock 17 handgun, police said.
Jette and the juvenile were each charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of ammunition, carrying a firearm without a license, improper storage of a large capacity firearm, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.
Hudson was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of ammunition, carrying a firearm without a license, and improper storage of a large capacity firearm.
All three are scheduled to be arraigned today, with Jette and Hudson arraigned in Wareham Fourth District Court and the juvenile in Brockton Juvenile Court.
