Dartmouth’s New Portuguese Takeout Spot Will Be Familiar to Food Truck Fans
The big day has finally arrived.
Last year, Caitlyn Fontes of Two Sisters Catering leased her first storefront in Dartmouth. A lot of labor and preparation has been put into the place on Dartmouth Street, and on Monday, Oct. 16, she’ll open her doors for the first time.
The Story of Two Sisters Café
It all started with a food truck.
Caitlyn and Courtney Fontes of New Bedford started Two Sisters Catering with a food truck in 2016, and their popularity grew so quickly that one truck became two.
While the truck was a great start, Fontes always had a vision for a brick-and-mortar.
In 2022, her dream became one step closer when she leased a commercial property at 743 Dartmouth St. in Dartmouth. For the past year, Fontes has been busy renovating her new space while continuing to offer her hugely popular catering service.
The New Location for Two Sisters Café
People can’t seem to get enough of her Portuguese menu items, and now Fontes can offer casual takeout orders to accompany her catering menu.
“There will be more quick eats, like sandwich combos, and some larger plates like shrimp Mozambique, Portuguese Steak, and fish and chips," Fontes said.
If you get lost in the many options, Fontes says the Portuguese burger is a must-try, topped with linguica, one egg, pimentos, and a secret sauce.
What to Expect
Think of the new Two Sisters location as a high-quality take-out spot. It will operate primarily as a lunch destination, but on Friday nights, Fontes will keep her kitchen open.
“I’m excited to experience a new area,” Fontes said. “I’m excited to venture out of the New Bedford area, meet new people, and build new friendships.”
The new era of Two Sisters begins Monday, Oct. 16 at 743 Dartmouth St. in Dartmouth.
