NEW BEDFORD — Two New Bedford men have been arrested on drug charges after police say they found fentanyl, psychedelic mushrooms, and steroids among other narcotics in a North End search.

Police said organized crime detectives searched a home at 15 Hammond St. on Jan. 7 and found a variety of drugs.

Detectives seized crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, more than 200 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, three vials of anabolic steroids, and nearly 90 grams of fentanyl.

Thomas Brabant Jr., 32, and 32-year-old Tristan Botelho of Chancery Street were both arrested following the search.

Police said detectives also seized packaging materials and cutting agents as well as $1,952 in cash.

Brabant is charged with trafficking in fentanyl and cocaine as well as possessing with intent to distribute class C and E substances.

According to police, he also had two active warrants for his arrest at the time.

Botelho is being charged for possessing one bag of cocaine.
