Two Million Dollar Lottery Ticket Sold in New Bedford
Someone local is $2 million richer after striking it big on a scratch ticket.
A winning ticket from the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” instant game was sold at the Wessam Variety Store, 1851 Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford recently, scoring the scratcher a sweet two million bucks.
The Massachusetts State Lottery says the winnings were claimed by the BAH Nominee Trust of Hanover with trustee David Spillane, choosing the cash option on its prize and receiving a one-time payment of $1,300,000 (less tax withholdings).
You can still win big with this scratch ticket too.
The Lottery says there are three additional $2 million prizes and six $1 million prizes remaining in the “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” instant game.
The store also receives some money for selling the winning ticket. It's a $20,000 bonus for them.
We've got some cash around here this fall too (though not nearly $2 million).
You can however win up to three times a day with our Cash Code contest thanks to Precision Window & Kitchen and CareFree Homes.
