Two Men Found Dead of Suspected Overdoses in New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD — Two New Bedford men are dead after they were found unresponsive in the same apartment on Tuesday night.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says a 50-year-old male, a resident of the Union Street apartment he was found in, and a 28-year-old male who was staying at the man's apartment were found at 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday. They were discovered by the 50-year-old victim's roommate in the living room of the apartment. One victim was on a recliner while the other was found on the couch.
The two men were declared deceased at the home just after midnight.
A spokesman for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office says a cut plastic straw with white powdery residue was found on the coffee table in front of both of the men.
A toxicology on both of the victims to determine their exact cause of death is pending.
