We had one of our famous mandatory morning show meetings this afternoon. This time, we decided to hit up Top Shelf Bar and Grill on Acushnet Ave in New Bedford.

I'll lead off with what some people call the Michael Rock Special. It's sauteed lobster, scallops and shrimp, served over pasta and topped with a rich, lobster sauce. It is savory, it is filling, and it is a heck of a lot of quality seafood for $18. It's a can't-miss item on the Top Shelf menu. It's technically called Pasta Especial, but order the Michael Rock Special and they'll know what you mean.

Christine went with a very basic and very healthy Shrimp Mozambique with a side of their sauteed spinach, while Gazelle feasted on a huge T-bone steak ($19).

The prices at Top Shelf Bar and Grill are beyond reasonable. You'd expect to pay $25 or $30 for these $18-$19 meals. They are truly that good.

For a local spin on an appetizer classic, try linguica on potato skins instead of bacon. You won't be sorry.

If you are lucky enough to snag one of our Seize The Deal $50 gift cards at half price ($25), your gift card will go a long, long way.

The Rock and Fox Show loves Top Shelf Bar and Grill. We get over there as often as we can.
