New Study Finds Tooth Fairy Is Very Generous in Massachusetts
I lost my first tooth biting into a mini donut during a Halloween party game. True story.
That night, the Tooth Fairy came and surprised me with fifty cents under my pillow and I was thrilled.
For context, the year was 2000. I understand the value of a dollar has change since then, but I was shocked to hear what the Tooth Fairy is putting under pillows in the state of Massachusetts nowadays.
How Much Is a Baby Tooth These Days?
Affordable Dentures and Implants conducted research of 4,000 Americans to uncover what children are receiving from the Tooth Fairy across the US. They discovered that the Tooth Fairy is paying nearly twice what we got as children.
“On average, Americans now pay $4.85 – for a full set of 20 baby teeth, that would cost $91.60,” said Affordable Dentures & Implants.
The study also found that people in the Northeast get the most for each tooth, averaging $3.22.

Tooth Fairy’s Pay-Outs for Massachusetts
For the State of Massachusetts, the Tooth Fairy is dishing out $5.08 on average.
What is a kid supposed to do with all that cash?
I find myself jealous of the Tooth Fairy’s generosity these days. Were my teeth not good enough for a crisp, $5 bill?
Inflation is the true culprit here, so if you have a little one in your life that will be losing teeth soon, you may need to have a chat with the Tooth Fairy about what’s going under that pillow.
