How Taylor Swift’s ‘Deranged’ Rhode Island 4th of July Post Foretold a Life Shift

Taylor Swift has owned Holiday House in Westerly, Rhode Island since 2013. Over the years, she's hosted a number of epic Fourth of July parties at the 11,000 square-foot home.

Guests like Ed Sheeran, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Uzo Aduba have attended her A-list parties, but it was an all-girl Fourth of July that she recently reflected on.

While out and about promoting the release of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, Swift stopped by SiriusXM's The Morning Mashup and talked about a "deranged" post from the summer of 2023.

2023 seems to be the last time Taylor celebrated the Fourth of July in Rhode Island and it turned out to be quite the turning point in her life.

The 2023 Girls-Only Weekend

That summer Swift, along with several other single friends like Selena Gomez and Este, Danielle and Alana Haim, spent a girls-only weekend in Westerly while in between Eras Tour stops. The pop star then shared a post about the party on her Instagram.

Not only did she hype her single status in the post, she ended the status update with "See you tonight Kansas Cityyy."

Pretty weird stuff considering Travis Kelce would be at that exact Kansas City show and her life would dramatically change from that point.

Reflecting on the photo now, and her slightly psychic comments about it, Taylor told The Morning Mashup,

How deranged is that post? I think back on that, I'm like... there's no way. I'm in this picture with a bunch of girls. A lot — not just me and Selena — a few of the other girls found their person right after that.

Swift's "person" is of course now fiancé Travis Kelce who would bring his notorious phone number friendship bracelet to her show that very night.

Perhaps it would bring things full circle if the two held their wedding at Holiday House on Fourth of July in 2026.
