The City of New Bedford, in partnership with The Zeiterion Performing Arts Center, invites you to gather together again for free concerts at Custom House Square in the downtown area. The series of weekly outdoor music concerts will begin on Thursday, July 8, and run through Thursday, August 26.

The events will feature some of the best local musicians from the Greater New Bedford area, beloved by all who experience their performances each Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.

According to the Zeiterion’s website, everyone is invited to join the fun and experience great live music featuring Americana, jazz, blues, Cabo Verdean, R&B, bluegrass, indie pop, and Grateful Dead tunes. Bring a lawn chair and lounge in the park, or sit under the tent and have a drink from the on-site bar with limited capacity. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Meet friends, grab take-out, and enjoy the music.

“We look forward to welcoming people back to our vibrant downtown with music and much more this summer,” said New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell. “The Summer Sound Series is a chance to enjoy the season and gather with family and friends.”

The Zeiterion also suggested that there are plenty of wonderful options for takeout in the area and a list was provided by dNB Inc. to help guests decide where to grab a bite to eat. Take a look at this list ahead of time to plan which craving you'll give into before you head out for the night.
