Why ‘Stranger Things’ Joe Keery Uses the Name “Djo” for His Music Career
You may know Joe Keery as Steve Harrington on Stranger Things, but did you also know that he goes by another name?
Djo is the name he uses for his music career. It's still pronounced like Joe, so why did he alter the spelling? It's a question many ponder including TV Host, Graham Norton.
During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Keery gave fans more insight into his singing career, chart-topping hits and interesting stage name.

"It's spelled D-J-O" said Norton. "Why?"
"When it came time to upload the music on this distribution site, I didn't really think about what to call it" Keery said. "Last minute I said Djo. It's kind of my name. It's like Djokovic or Django."
"Now I'm stuck with it" Keery added. His hit song "End of Beginning" was first released in 2022.

"I was always doing music just as a hobby. I had played in bands and stuff and when I was shooting the second season of Stranger Things, had a little studio at my Airbnb and was writing and recording music" Keery said.
The hard work and creativity clearly paid off, his hit song continues to top the charts, most likely in part due to the ending of Stranger Things.
"It had a nice little run about a year ago and then I think with the show ending and it just kind of a confluence of all these different things."
