Still Hope For The Whaling City Festival

There's still hope that there will be a Whaling City Festival this summer.  New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell has conceded that if there are enough police officers and enough lighting...he would consider allowing the festival to be extended by one hour.  The new closing time would be 9pm...and would be a trial for this year only.

Now, the question remains...is it too late for the festival to be organized?  Whaling City Festival President Allen Richard told me that many of the vendors have already moved on to other festivals in different parts of the country.
