State Police Identify Body Found in New Bedford

Massachusetts State Police say they've identified a body found in New Bedford over the weekend.

The young woman's body was found outside of the Presidential Heights housing development in the North End early Saturday morning. Until yesterday, authorities were unable to determine the woman's identity, and turned to the public for help, providing a description of the woman's build and tattoos.

State Police now say the woman has been identified and her next of kin have been notified. Her name is not being released.

New Bedford Police have told WBSM News they believe the woman died of a drug overdose.
