Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus Bringing Holiday Cheer to Taunton
Singers from over 40 towns across Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island are coming together to bring some holiday cheer.
A buddy and I were catching up a few months ago over dinner and he happened to mention that he was in a pretty big choral group. With my background in choral activities at New Bedford High School, I became curious.
The Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus has 90 vocalists and 30 orchestra members. Enjoying them perform sounds like a truly immersive experience. This type of show would give me all the good goosebumps.

The kicker is these are talented musicians from around the area who truly enjoy the art and are committed to putting on quality performances.
My friend's involvement in this chorus caught me by surprise but I'm glad he told me about it. I might just audition to be in it. Yes, you can join but you have to audition and you need to fit their needs. I'm pretty sure I'm a baritone. The chorus holds auditions twice a year.
The chorus performs Dec. 10 at 7 and Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at Taunton High School.
Tickets are available online or in-person the days of the shows.
