We're not even a week into August and the ghosts and ghouls are out.

Yes, you read that right. Halloween decor, candy and more is on full display at local retailers. In my opinion, it's too soon.

Fall Makes An Early Arrival

There's always conversation/excitement/mixed reviews about pumpkin-flavored items making their appearance earlier and earlier each year.

While I enjoy the seasonal spice, I can't seem to wrap my head around sipping a pumpkin beer or latte until the air turns crisp. Am I wrong?

Too Soon For Halloween?

Day after day, store after store, I keep running into Halloween items.

It started with the Pillsbury Ready to Bake cookies which, honestly, always jump the gun on the next season/holiday.

I remember just last year I wanted to find these Halloween cookies for the big night and they had already moved on to the elves and snowmen.

A few days later I saw these jack-o'-lantern sugar cookies at a local Walmart...and they were on sale?!

Again, we're not even into September. The kids are still on summer break!

Finally, it was the candy and full-blown seasonal aisle at Walgreens that's making me write this article.
