Hot drinks and the holidays go hand in hand for lots of people and some flavors just seem to make the season brighter and tastier. Luckily for us, the SouthCoast is full of local coffee shops with seasonal specialty drinks sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

Recently both Dunkin' and Starbucks announced their holiday drink line up for 2021. New England staple Dunkin' is bringing back the classic peppermint mocha and toasted white chocolate lattes along with introducing the holiday blend brewed coffee. Starbucks is also serving you a peppermint mocha latte along with creme brulée and chestnut praline lattes.

While all of those sound delicious, you can actually find many of the same drinks (and a laundry list of others) at local coffee shops, too. Plus, sipping something from the coffee shop down the street gives you the added good feeling of supporting a local small business this season, a win-win.

So what can you expect from the coffee shop near you? We called lots of local cafés to get the scoop on what will can be sipping this holiday season and came to one conclusion: the SouthCoast loves eggnog lattes.

Yes, the vast majority of coffee shops we spoke with are planning to add an eggnog latte to the menu this winter. So that must mean everyone loves them.

It is not just eggnog lattes locally, however. The holiday menus at our local shops have lots to offer this season and lots of ways to offer it. From tasty seasonal hot chocolates to holiday blend brews, drinks with whipped cream and candy bits of top or just simple immune system-boosting teas, SouthCoast coffee shops are giving you the gift of specialty drinks this season.
