Last year was a weird year to celebrate Halloween, and not in a good way. With regular events getting canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were left to our own devices. Sure, the kids still made it out to do some trick-or-treating, but some houses changed the way they distributed candy to the ghouls and goblins roaming the streets of the SouthCoast. From candy buckets to candy shoots, the beloved Halloween tradition simply was not what it was in years past.

Luckily, the COVID vaccine has made it possible to bring back some of our favorite Halloween events and some new ones have been added as a way to celebrate this spooky season. Some COVID-19 precautions might still be in play, but they will not be as strict as Halloween of 2020.

We’ve compiled a list of all the Halloween events happening on the SouthCoast and in our surrounding area so you and your family can fit as much spooky fun into your schedules this year as possible. Please keep in mind that some of these events are free of charge and open to the public while others require the purchase of a ticket to enter. If you know of an event that we do not have listed here, please let us know so we can add them as soon as possible.

My family is on a mission to max out the Halloween fun this year, so we'll be creating a bucket list of all the events we want to attend. I think we'll start with the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular and end with trick-or-treating with alpacas.
