Parents have a fun way to keep their kids' summer reading on track thanks to Showcase Cinemas Bookworm Wednesdays.

This popular summer event at all local Showcase Cinemas, including Warwick, North Attleboro and Seekonk, kicks off July 5 and runs through July 26 with morning showings of family-favorite movies each Wednesday of the month.

It gives kids the chance to check out a movie for free, just by doing some summer reading.

How To Take Part in Showcase Cinemas Bookworm Wednesdays

Seeing free movies for this event is pretty easy. Kids simply download the book report form from the Bookworm Wednesday page on Showcase Cinemas' website, then fill it out and submit it to the theater.

The book reports are one-page sheets asking children to fill in the name of a book, author and a brief plot description. Filling out the form lets you reserve seats for a free movie in July.

Not too shabby.

Movies For Showcase Cinemas Bookworm Wednesdays:

Sonic the Hedgehog - July 5

The Paw Patrol Movie - July 12

Clifford the Big Red Dog - July 19

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - July 26

Anyone filling out a report gets to see the film for free, as do parents bringing their child and any other children under age 6. Moviegoers can also purchase a 1-2-3 Go Box during the series, which gets you popcorn, candy and drink for just $5.

It's a great deal for beating the heat with a movie this summer, plus it keeps your kids reading, too. Total win-win.
