See This Popular 80s Movie In SouthCoast Theaters For 40th Anniversary
If you loved The Goonies as a child, then this weekend you need to head to the theater. For two days only the cult classic is returning to the big screen in honor of it's 40th Anniversary.
Technically The Goonies was released in June of 1985, but we're not complaining that the studio has chosen to re-release the film in January for it's 40th birthday (maybe it will give us another re-release this summer if all goes well the first time.).
For now there are just two days to see it and only one SouthCoast theaters with plans to show it.
Hard to believe it was 40 years ago that The Goonies was making it's big screen debut and giving us the legend of "One-Eyed Willy" for the very first time.

Since then the film has become one of the most iconic 80s movies of all time and even earned itself a spot in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
You can now relive that significance on the big screen, but for only two days.
On January 19th and 20th, the AMC Dartmouth Mall 11 will be the only theater on the SouthCoast showing The Goonies on the big screen again.
You can also drive to Providence Place Cinemas 16 or Showcase Cinemas in Warwick, but again you only have January 19th and 20th to catch it.

With the local schools closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, this could be a great idea for getting the kids of the house and introducing them to an iconic piece of your own childhood.
