Rocky Point Chowder House Is Finally Making Its Comeback
If you've been missing clam cakes and chowder from the beloved Rocky Point Chowder House, have we got good news for you.
After being forced to close the doors of its Post Road location in the summer of 2022, this Rhode Island staple has finally found a new home.
Get ready to relive childhood memories via your taste buds when a brand new Rocky Point Chowder House location opens inside the Warwick Mall this winter.
The History of the Rocky Point Chowder House
Anyone who drove down Post Road in Warwick from 2013-2022 couldn't help but notice the colorful Rocky Point Chowder House on the corner of Airport Road. Those red and blue stripes along with the dapper lobster atop the building made this eatery a can't miss. Not to mention the amazing food they served year after year.
Yet, when the Saletin Real Estate Group purchased the property where the restaurant was located, they opted not to renew Rocky Point's lease. This left the owners scrambling for a spot to go.
They have finally found that spot.

After speaking with the manager of the Warwick Mall, Domenic Schiavone, we've learned that construction of a Rocky Point Chowder House is well underway in the mall's food court.
When Will Rocky Point Chowder House Open In Warwick Mall?
Schiavone says the Chowder House had hoped to come to the mall years ago, but no space was open at the time. Since then a taco shop moved out and now Rocky Point could be officially opening by the first few weeks of December.
Of course, things won't be exactly the same as they were on Post Road.
The shop had plenty of space on their corner lot and displayed numerous pieces of park memorabilia in the parking lot, including the 1967 Leo the Lion from Rocky Point’s legendary House of Horrors haunted house ride.
Much of this memorabilia is too large for the new mall location, but a smaller version of the dapper lobster will be placed on the wall by the service counter.
Grand Opening Plans and Memorabilia
Guests can also expect to see a replica ride on display as well. Schiavone tells us the vintage ride car will be part of the restaurant's grand opening event.
The exact date of that event has yet to be confirmed, since construction of restaurant exterior signage and interior kitchen is still ongoing. Holiday shoppers could see it open before Christmas hits however.

Guests can plan on enjoying the original Rocky Point Park recipes once again plus some extended menu items similar to the former Post Road location's.
The Chowder House is just one of many new local businesses opening inside the Warwick Mall, including We Be Jammin', Home Elevations, T's Vault, A Christmas To Remember, The Sports Fan, Sweet Palace and Neelu's Threading.
