Looking for a quick, easy and fun day trip this summer? How about Newport's Ice Cream Train!

The Ice Cream Train is a rolling 1950's ice cream shop, serving up soft serve with all the fixins'.

Kids and adults can enjoy this scenic 45-minute train ride along Narragansett Bay that runs in July & August, Wednesday through Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

The cars are all air conditioned too, so it's a great way to beat the heat on those humid summer days.

This summer the ice cream train departs from the Portsmouth Junction Station at One Alexander Road, Portsmouth.

Tickets can be bought on site (though the trains can fill up fast) or ahead of time online with the link below.

You can also call 401-295-1203 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday with any additional questions.
