Rhode Island Seafood Festival Makes Top 10 List
The results are in for the Best Specialty Food Festivals in the country and one of them is just a drive away.
Earlier this month, fans voted for their favorites on USA Today and now their top 10 have been announced. Taking the No. 10 spot is the Rhode Island Seafood Festival, an autumn festival held at India Point Park in Providence.
Humble Beginnings
"We started in 2011 and had no idea what we were doing. Fifteen years in and we do it better than anyone in the festival game," TJ McNulty, Founder of Grand Festivals said.
"I do my best to work with the entire festival team to make sure things run as smoothly as possible all while patrons, vendors and staff alike are having a good time," McNulty said.
What to Enjoy at the Rhode Island Seafood Festival
USA Today voters selected the festival for its delicious food, live music and great atmosphere. The offerings at the RI Seafood Festival are abundant. There are lobster rolls, scallop rolls, oysters, lobster bao buns, Del's Lemonade and plenty more.
"There’s are so many incredible other seafood options that you should try, that’s the whole reason to come check us out, to expand the pallet and have what you normally wouldn’t if you had to choose just one thing at a restaurant," McNulty said. "I understand needing to get a staple item, I always do, but I really love trying a bit of everything over the two days."
In addition to the extensive menu of Lil' Rhody favorites, McNulty said the people are what really makes this event stand out.
"This festival is a one-off festival put on by an expansive group of friends who have a blast doing it," he said.
The 15th Annual Rhode Island Seafood Festival will be held September 6 and 7 at India Point Park in Providence.
