Rhode Island resident Genevieve Marzalek just celebrated a birthday on February 28, making her the oldest Rhode Island resident on record at 111 years old.

Less than a month later, the Bristol resident passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 23.

Her favorite pizza spot, Bristol House of Pizza, shared condolences as well as Genevieve's favorite pizza topping on the business's Facebook page. She liked a little kick, so she went with pepperoni. The House of Pizza was a weekly indulgence for the late Genevieve for almost two decades.

That's a lot of coffee and pizza.

The restaurant even dedicated a space for this sweetheart they named "Genevieve's Corner."

It's not small accomplishment to live to be over 100 and leave a legacy of kindness and light. We couldn't agree more; looking at the pictures of this sweet woman, we can only begin to imagine the countless lives she has touched.

Genevieve had been a widow for over 50 years, as her late husband Robert Marzalek lost his life in the line of duty fighting for our country in Germany back in 1968.

Massachusetts lost its eldest resident back in November, when Herlda Senhouse passed away at the age of 113. Prior to her death, she agreed to donate her brain so scientist could study it in hopes of finding the key to longevity.

In honor of Genevieve Marzalek, let's try to find her secret to living such a long and happy life. Maybe it was the pepperoni pizza.
