Remembering When The Regatta Was Fall River’s Waterfront Party Spot
Driving down to Battleship Cove a few weeks ago, I couldn't help but walk down memory lane to when The Regatta was the spot in Fall River.
When I started at Fun 107, we used to be at the waterfront bar, now the site of The Cove Restaurant & Marina, all the time. The station's David Duran was the party guy.
I couldn't help but think how many people probably have some good and not-so-good memories of that place and just how much the area has changed since The Regatta closed back in 2009.
Oh, come on. Don't even deny it. We all hit up The Regatta at some point.
Looking at pictures still online, I can't believe it was safe for any of us to be in that place. I mean, it stayed open for more than a decade, from 1997 to 2009, so it had a good run for a club.
Just look at this epic music video filmed right outside of the spot. Clearly, this was a landmark for the cool kids.
Since I was taking this walk down memory lane, I thought it would be interesting to take to Facebook and see what other people remember about the place. Some, it seems, would rather forget their Regatta days. At least that's what their comments appear to reflect.
Check out some of the memories below, and thank you to everyone who shared some things they'd rather forget.
Let us know your own Regatta memories, too.
